Our most recent stockist, Selfridges invited us to create an installation within three large bell jars for their London store on the 1st floor men’s designer area. This provided a nice challenge to think of something visual that stayed true to the Marwood brand as well as fit perfectly within the contemporary setting of Selfridges new designer mat. Following on from Hannah Martin‘s refined display and to sit alongside an installation of the newly launched Thom Browne collection, this was an exciting brief.
For each jar, we created platforms to display the products from panels of square mesh, cutting them from a ready made panel and then hand stitching them together at each corner before painting them black. To draw attention to the tessellating leaf pattern on our Marwood x All Fall In collaboration products, we spray painted real ivy leaves in high gloss black paint and scattered them within the jars. Working with graphic duo Everything in Between, we wanted to create something that celebrated the start of Autumn but with an eye catching reference to our collaboration. These pieces are special due to the design and process but also will only be available in a limited run. This makes them the perfect gift for men.
